The club’s biggest annual membership project is making Christmas toys & gifts for deserving area children. In past years increasing numbers of toys and gift items were built with recent efforts resulting in over 500 toys and gifts donated to local groups in Garland and Saline County, Arkansas. Recipient groups include: head start programs, foster children groups, and children in shelters.
2012 Toy Project Director, Terry Jasecki
2012 Toy Project Director, Terry Jasecki, kicked off the Toys Distribution part of the November Club meeting. Over 400 club members made Christmas toys and gifts were on display and pickup on group assigned tables. Each of the 7 receiving organizations and groups had representatives that spoke about the needy children that would be receiving the toys at their Christmas parties. Sincere thank yous were given to the club members that built the toys and gifts.
A special thanks goes out to the “Doll Ladies” who refurbish dolls and make doll clothing and blankets for dolls placed in woodworker built cradles and highchairs.
